Opportunity:
The Executive Director serves as the second-in-command to the Agency Administrator and is a key member of the agency's leadership team. The Executive Director partners with the Agency Administrator to advance CESA 7's mission, strategic priorities, and operational excellence while providing strategic leadership and collaborative support to the Directors of Learning Services, Special Education, and Youth Apprenticeship Programs. The Executive Director plays a vital role in agency-wide planning, staff development, partnership building, and the continuous improvement of services to member districts.
This position requires regular on-site presence at the CESA 7 office and the flexibility to travel to school districts and partner sites as needed to support agency initiatives and services. While some opportunities for remote work may be available, in-person engagement is the standard expectation.

Duties:
- Oversee and serve as a resource and thought partner to the Learning Services, Special Education, Youth Apprenticeship, and Communications departments while helping to strengthen service delivery, instructional leadership, and professional development efforts.
- Provide operational leadership across departments to drive efficiency, foster innovation, and ensure the effective coordination and execution of contracts with school districts and the Department of Public Instruction.
- Promote a positive, mission-driven organizational culture that values collaboration and continuous improvement by building and supporting a high-performance education team.
- Inspire, integrate, and align the development of internal goals with the agency's vision and mission.
- Assist in agency-wide decision-making, including budgeting, staffing, communications, and organizational development.
- Represent the agency in meetings, events, and collaborative efforts with school districts, the Department of Public Instruction, and other partners.
- Provide leadership in monitoring and reviewing school district assessment data and using findings to guide goal development and implementation for assigned staff and departments.
- Approve the assigned department budgets and determine the allocations for staff, supplies, and equipment. Provide direction for monitoring all assigned general and categorically funded programs to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with governmental agencies, business and civic organizations, and the community to provide needed information and advance the agency's initiatives.
- Supervise, evaluate, and hold accountable the performance and professionalism of assigned staff; interview and select employees, and recommend transfers, reassignments, terminations, and disciplinary actions; plan, coordinate, and arrange for appropriate training of assigned staff.
- Oversee the preparation and maintenance of various narrative and statistical reports, records, correspondence, and files related to assigned services, activities, and operations; prepare and submit applications, contracts, and reports to funding agencies; and have the skill set to operate technology systems for data entry and report generation effectively
Qualifications
- Experience:
- Education Administration, Central Office Administration
- Preference will be given to district-level administrative licenses and experience, may include superintendent, curriculum and instruction, or pupil services
- Preference will be given to those with previous CESA experience
- Education:
- Masters in educational administration
